Personal Transition or Threshold Ceremonies

PicturePhoto by: Kristina Belkina
Life goes by so fast, and often we cross major life thresholds without having the time our soul needs to stop, rest, and reflect on what we have been through.
This is where threshold ceremonies can become powerful and initiatory in their own rite. However for some of us marking these passages can often feel very private, and although we desire to mark the occasion somehow some way, we don't necessarily want to make it a big event.
As someone who believes strongly in having both important thresholds marked I also believe that they are best when we have at least one other person hold that space for us as we move through it.
This is where I can support and help to create a strong and private ceremony to mark any transition you may be needing to cross.

From marking the final end of a divorce, a milestone birthday, publishing a book or your anniversary of sobriety, finishing Chemo,or releasing and letting go of something or someone close to you, and even marking getting into the best shape physically and emotionally of your life.
These are all thresholds that we cross and there are literally thousands of them that we will see in a full lifetime!

At any time you can ask yourself: At which threshold am I now standing? At this time in my life, what am I leaving? Where am I about to enter? What is preventing me from crossing my next threshold? What gift would enable me to cross it?
A threshold is not a simple boundary; it is a frontier that divides two different territories, rhythms, and atmospheres.
This is one of the reasons such vital crossings were always clothed in ritual.
It is wise in your own life to be able to recognize and acknowledge the key thresholds: to take your time; to feel all the varieties of presence that accrue there; to listen inward with complete attention until you hear the inner voice calling you forward.
The time has come to cross."
John O'Donohue

What does a Threshold Ceremony look like?

Picture
Standing on the edge cliff, or deep in the forest, at the base of a waterfall, on the shore of the ocean, or in your living room, these ceremonies can take place wherever you can dream of them being!

We begin our journey with an initial consult where over tea we sit and I learn more about you and what kind of threshold you would like to mark. Then we begin to dream how we can mark this time for you, this is where my training as a celebrant and priestess come into play as I support you in this dream, exploring all sorts of questions from where you would like it to take place, and all the elements will make it special for you.
Some of these elements may be:
~ A Fire ceremony for letting go.
~ A spiritually based photography session deep in the forest, at the beach or in your home to mark how fabulous you are! Together we will set the intention for the day and create ceremony around your photo session. I work with photographer Kristina Belkina who  took most of the images on this site and has a strong eye for the sacred.

~ Having a specially crafted piece of jewelry made just for you with prayers and mantras infused into the jewelry and then have crafted by sacred jewelry artist Sonja Picard.
Then if you wish {being a former jewelry design artist} I can string the piece for you using semi-precious beads adding more prayers and intentions into your piece, and together we consecrate it in ceremony.

~A flower medicine ceremony, to mark healing work.
~A ceremony that is completed upon climbing a mountain or accomplishing another feat such as jumping from an airplane or simply accomplishing something that terrified you before.
~ A quiet ceremony in the privacy of your own home, crafted and made unique for you, there is no end to what can be crafted here.

Drawing on my extensive creation of literally hundreds of ceremonies over the past 15 years, and my network of artists photographers and a great Mehendi artist, as well as unique and hidden spots in the city we will begin to play with how you wish to mark this threshold and together we set it into motion.

The sacred jewelry artist that I work with is the widely renowned Sonja Picard who crafts sacred jewelry, as well as recycling old gold jewelry and transforming it into beautiful new sacred pieces of meaningful sacred art, watch her video below for inspiration...

The cost for a private threshold ceremony is $250 excluding extras such as a photography session, sacred jewelry etc.. If you think this may be something you are interested in, pop me an e-mail and we will begin to dream together....

Nikiah created such a magical space, in which I could trust in both her and myself.
The generosity of her spirit ~ combined with all the elemental objects she thoughtfully chose and crafted for my ceremony ~ all added to the alchemy and sacred beauty of the day.
Immersed in nature at the sea, cloaked in burning sage and sunshine, I felt my own true power while in her healing presence.
