Wolf was my inspiration for this rattle, and I have paired it with local Diamond Willow wood, deer leather and deer hide. Inside the rattle I have placed corn, crystals rowan berries and a few dried rose petals from my garden this past summer.

The wolf is a powerful spirit animal ally and offers gifts of  instinct, intelligence, freedom, and connection to family. it is said that when the wolf shows up in your life, pay attention to what your intuition is telling you, as wolf had a  deep connection with intuition and instincts. Wolf medicine offers protection, inner healing and an inner knowing that can deepen as you work with wolf medicine.

Deer{From the book"By Oak, Ash, & Thorn" by D.J. Conway):Deer (Fiadh) In its form of the White Doe or White Stag, the deer was often a messenger and guide from the Otherworlds. Following such an animal led the unsuspecting human into contact with supernatural beings. The antlered headdress of Cernunnos may have been copied by Celtic shamans as apparel in their rituals. The deer represents keen scent, grace swiftness, and gentleness.

Turquoise:This stone is full of amazing properties, it is good for Innovation and inventiveness, it strengthens and aligns all chakras, and provides the wearer with protection grounding, and balance.

Inside the rattle is:

Small clear Quartz crystals: Quartz Crystals: are storm element stones and  can be programmed if we set intentions for it, thus making it perfect for setting the intention for the crossing of a threshold and entering into a commitment wiht your beloved. Crystal quartz brings heightened spiritual awareness to whoever wears, carries or meditates with them. Quartz can also be used to amplify the spiritual properties of any other stones near them making them more powerful.

Corn: Since ancient times corn {maize}has been held as being most sacred and represents the goddess of fertility. To the ancient Mayan each kernel of corn was considered sacred and not to be wasted. This was because they believed that corn not only contains the power to sustain us, but also represents the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth.

Rowan berries:Sometimes referred to as “the whispering tree,” the rowan was well known is among the Celts as a tree of the Goddess and to be sacred among the faeries. Its berry is shaped like a five-pointed star, which is known as a symbol of magical protection.
