The inspiration for these bundles felt truly led by spirit, as this spring while I was literally "spring cleaning" my studio I began to notice just how many animal talismans I had been collecting over the years and began filling a small bowl with them, saving them for later.
As I sat down to cleanse and prepare them for whatever their next life was to become the idea of creating small spirit bundles with medicines in it came to me, and so these bundles were born.
If you have an animal guide you wish to honour, or wish keep the essence of it's medicine close to you, these sweet bundles offer a practical way to do that. Carry them in your purse or car, or place on your altar or even bedside table.
Each bundle has been created so that they can be opened up and more elements can be added over time.
Each bundle is cleansed and smudged before finding it's new home, and will be lovingly packaged before being shipped out to you.
Swan:
This medicine bundle carries the gentle and yet fierce medicine of the swan and has a stunning and intricately carved bone swan on the front. The details of this little piece are exquisite, as you can see form the images here, no detail has been spared, even the little feet underneath have been carved. The leather used is a soft piece of Elk skin.
Inside your bundle you will find:
Mugwort: has been added to each bundle for it's properties within the realm of our dreamtime, ad it is known to enhance our dreams and help us remember them. For those who journey shamanically it is also a very supportive medicine in that it supports us in having deep journeys and in remembering them when we get back.
Sage: Is a medicine of cleansing and protection, and a small pinch has been added to each bundle to support and hold us.
Calendula: I added calendula here because it is a gentle and yet very supportive medicine knows for it's healing properties and sunshiny spirit.
Pearl Shell moon: Given the feminine aspects of the swan I added in this round moon shell as a reminder that the moon too holds us.
Clear Quartz Crystal:Each bundle has a crystal hidden within it's core, as crystals support us in our intentions, and so in this way support the work we are doing. In this case each bundle holds a different spirit or medicine and so the crystals over time will become programmed to hold and support the medicine of the bundle.
Swan Medicine:
Teaches us to trust the grace of our inner selves and urges us to celebrate the gifts that we have been given in this lifetime.
Swans are known as dreamers and have a watery essence about them, as do the people who have and work with swan medicine.
Those who work with swan medicine carry the ability to see the future or get glimpses of it. Swan supports those who are on their healing journeys and supports them to handle it with grace and flow.
Celtic myth also says that when inhabitants of the other world wanted to come and be on the land we dwell in, they would take the shape of the swans and they would come in pairs.
It is said that Swans were benevolent deities, and legends say tell of swan images being placed onto medallions and worn around the neck for protection.
