This drum called itself into being by first asking to be taken to all the waters that lead into the ocean.
She was first soaked in rainwater from our first rain this long hot summer, followed by a trip to the ocean where she received a briny dip into the ocean as the tide made it's way into the shore.
Here she was brought home along with handfuls of deep green seaweed and given her colour, with pressed seaweed on her surface, and then, lastly she was taken to the river where she tumbled over the rocks as the wild water took her away....

Back at home she was made into the drum you see here today, given a driftwood handle and strings of seashells....
She comes with a malett and olive seaweed drum bag, as well as with an oyster shell smudging bowl to remind her of the water from which she came from.

I am the daughter of Earth and Water,

And the nursling of the Sky;

I pass through the pores of the ocean and shores;

I change, but I cannot die......

From the Poem The Cloud By Percy Bysshe Shelly
